Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday night had a meeting with Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Home Minister Shivraj Patil discussing the political developments in Karnataka where Congress-JD (S) coalition government faced a crisis.

They reviewed the situation in the state after a section of JD-S led by HD Kumaraswami pulled the rug from Dharam Singh-led government, aligned with BJP and jointly staked claim to form an alternative government.
