PM to meet farmers in three Vidarbha villages
PM would meet the farmers in Dhamangaon in Amravati district, Waifad in Wardha district and Koljhari in Yavatmal district.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would arrive on his maiden two-day visit of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra on June 30 and meet the farmers in Dhamangaon in Amravati district, Waifad in Wardha district and Koljhari in Yavatmal district, official sources said.
He would arrive at 10 am on June 30 and leave for Dhamangaon at 11 am and spend an hour with the bereaved family members of farmers who have committed suicide.
Later he would pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Sevagram ashram. Singh would proceed for Waifad in the afternoon and later return to the city. In the evening, he would attend the inauguration of a printing plant of Marathi daily Lokmat at Butibori and halt at Raj Bhavan.
On July 1, The Prime Minister would proceed towards Koljhari in Yavatmal district and meet the farmers to discuss their problems and return to city to hold discussions with concerned officials at Raj Bhavan. He would preside over a review meeting of all concerned officials of central sponsored schemes in the evening before leaving for Nagpur, sources added.
