On the second day of his three-day visit to the Andaman and Nicobar where 5,000 people perished in the killer waves last year, Singh will visit the Car Nicobar island, one of the worst-hit areas by tsunami, to pay tribute at the Tsunami Memorial and lay the foundation stone for a stadium.

He will also interact with the tribal leaders and lay the foundation stone for a hostel in Campbell Bay island.

The Prime Minister will place a wreath at the Air Base of Indian Air Force which was ravaged by the giant waves that killed scores of Air Force personnel.

Singh will also interact with senior officials and review rehabilitation work.
