At present, the bank only offers demat account services, but to transact in shares its customers had to go to other banks.

"We have tied-up with IDBI Capital to offer a facility to customers to buy and sell shares," Punjab National Bank executive director K Raghuraman said.

After the interface with the technical support provider Infosys is established, the Bank plans to launch the online facility in November.
