What do you start the day with?
Two glasses of water, followed by a cup of tea.

What do you end the day with?
Fresh curd after a good meal.

On a date what would you like to be wooed with?
Blueberry muffins.

If you were marooned on an island what would you want and why?
Prawns, for sure, I love them.

When you eat out what do you inevitably order?
A chicken dish.

What do you always serve guests at home?
Depending on whether they are vegetarian or non vegetarian, a chicken or paneer specialty.

What has been your most memorable experiment with food?
I tried making prawn curry once.. it was a DISASTER! It was my first and last culinary experiment.

Which is the one food item you can’t do without?
Homemade phulkas.

A food item you abhor?

The yuckiest thing you have ever tasted?

And what is your favourite drink?
Jack Daniels Bourbon.

What is your favourite dessert?
Gulab jamuns with curd, to cut the sweetness.

If you weren’t a movie star what would you binge on?
Gulab jamuns, butter chicken, cheese omelettes.. I could go on and on.

As a child is there something you had to have everyday?
Green, leafy vegetables.

In summer what do you cool down with?
Fresh fruit juice.

What do you crunch when there’s a nip in the air?
Garam garam batata vadas.

Could you name one fruit you eat everyday?
An apple.

Your miracle diet would be..
Roti, sabzi, daal, chawal, some chicken and of course PRAWNS. That’s my diet!

Which festival do you associate with food?
Holi with puran polis.. and Diwali with homemade chaklis, chiwada, besan ladoos and karanjis.

A dinner invitation you’d never refuse?
One at Goa Portugesa in Mumbai and Martin’s Corner in Goa.

If you opened a specialty restaurant where would it be and what would it serve?
It would be in Mumbai and serve authentic Maharashtrian cuisine.

If you could choose your last meal what would you order?
Prawn biryani.
