Police file chargesheet against Shahabuddin
Siwan jail superintendent Lalan Kumar Sinha had lodged an FIR against Shahabuddin for allegedly using expletives against him and threatening to kill him.
Controversial RJD MP Mohammed Shahabuddin on Monday landed in fresh trouble with police filing a chargesheet against him for allegedly abusing and threatening to kill the superintendent of Siwan jail, where he is being held.
The officer in-charge of Siwan Muffasil police station, JP Shahi, filed the chargesheet in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate AK Barial after a report by the district Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar, who found the allegations against the MP to be true.
The chargesheet was filed under Sections 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 189 (threat of injury to public servant) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code.
Siwan jail superintendent Lalan Kumar Sinha had lodged an FIR against Shahabuddin for allegedly using expletives against him and threatening to kill him when he had gone to the MP on June 17 with order for his production before the special court inside the jail.
Shahabuddin had refused to appear before the court thrice saying he was unwell. The court of Special Judicial Magistrate BB Gupta had on June 17 ordered the jail superintendent to produce him before the court.
The MP finally appeared before the special court of District and Sessions Judge GP Srivastava and also that of Judicial Magistrate BB Gupta on June 19.
