The Pal Mahasabha community leaders, including Samajwadi Party MP from Jaleshwar SP Singh Baghel, Karera MLA Lakhan Singh, state president Roshan Lal Pal and others, addressed the public meeting at Moti Mahal. They charged that police had been harassing the community members besides implicating them in false cases on the pretext of involvement with dacoit Rambabu Dayaram Gadiaria gang.

They said that it was just a beginning of their struggle for a respectable place in the society. They warned that if the police and government did not pay heed towards their genuine call then they would be forced to intensify the agitation and resort to measures like gherao of the Vidhan Sabha. They questioned the justification of police action against innocent members of Gadaria community residing in villages.

The speakers further said that we are an honest and patriotic race and have been contributing towards the nation building. Ms Rama Singh said that the determination of the community members to revolt against repressive measures of police was getting stronger. Rampal claimed that community could help facilitate surrender of Gadaria brothers on certain conditions including allotment of 200 acre land to them as was the previous precedence.

He, however, also added that we have no idea of their location and have no link with them whatsoever. But the community as a whole could initiate the process for the dacoit’s surrender with mutual consent.

The members urged CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan to take initiative in the matter as was taken by former Chief Minister Arjun Singh in engineering surrender of upper caste dacoits such as Mohar Singh, Madho Singh, Kukka Pandit etc.

The leaders did not miss the opportunity to make a call for fund collection by community members to support caste candidates in any future election.
