Ramdev had stirred up a controversy here by saying he’d “behead those not saying Bharat Mata Ki Jai if he were not bound by law.” An application seeking an FIR against Ramdev was moved by local Congress leader Subhash Batra to court accusing Ramdev of using “Talibani language” and “hate speech”.

A local court had directed police to submit its report on the matter by April 30. On Saturday, police sought more time to record the statement of Ramdev, while added that it has taken the statements from the witnesses. The court has fixed May 23 as the next date of hearing.
