Statements of the then station house officer (SHO) Koh-e-Fiza Anil Kumar Maurya and Head Constable Sitaram Dehariya were recorded on Tuesday. Besides statements of seven more prosecution witnesses were recorded. Maurya had lodged an FIR against Monica and four other accused in the case while arrest memo against Monica was prepared in Dehariya’s presence. Following their deposition, they were also cross-examined by Monica’s local lawyer Santosh Verma.

Earlier, the application moved by Verma seeking deferment of evidence recording to allow him to file a revision petition in the higher court against the charges framed against Monica was rejected by the court. Nobody except the lawyers of Monica Bedi and the witnesses were allowed inside the courtroom.

However, tight security on the court premises did not deter people, including passers-by, from making attempts for a glimpse of the film actress of yesteryears when she was brought to the court. Lawyers were also seen trailing the actress as she was taken to Dangi’s court surrounded by a crowd of policemen and women.

She was brought to court at 12.30 pm and stayed there for more than an hour. The court fixed the case for next haring on October 26.
