Pawar was in Thane for the foundation stone laying ceremony of a mini-sports complex and the felicitation of freedom fighter Dattaji Tamhane.
"When it comes to tackling the issues of a state, all political parties should come together. Recently, Karnataka leaders came and met me, Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss their state's issues," said Pawar.
He added, "There should be no politics in the development of the city. It should be restricted to elections. Maharashtra has several problems. So, it is necessary for political leaders to come together."
