Officials suspect that the anti-national elements may influence the mind of any begger through any kind of temptation. It may be noted that the Kolkatta police had nabbed a suspected terrorist who was earlier entrusted with the responsibility of training unemployed youths of Purvanchal for anti-national activities. The intelligence sleuths are keeping a close vigil on the activities of beggars found near major temples like Sankat Mochan, Durga temple, Batuk Bhairo, Laat Bhairo, Kashi Vishwanath temple, Dashashwamedh ghat, Rajendra Prasad ghat, Assi ghat and other overcrowded ghats.

The district administration gave instructions to the intelligence sleuths in this connection on Saturday. Instructions have been also given to ensure adequate security in the main government and private hospitals and government offices.
