A TEAM of officials from Norway-based International firm--Kvalitet Vertias Quality Assurance--carried out a surveillance audit of Prayag Raj Express train on Wednesday.

The audit was meant to examine the quality of the services in the VIP train vis-a-vis the International Standard Organisation (ISO) norms.
Post audit, the visiting officials expressed complete satisfaction over various services provided in the VIP train including cleanliness, punctuality, passenger comfort, medical facilities and electrical facilities, claimed Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), North Central Railway, SK Chaudhary.
DRM said that since the agency is satisfied with the services of the train, the officials of the NCR are now awaiting extension of the ISO 9001 certification that was awarded to Prayag Raj Express in 2003 for its quality maintenance.
He further said that all the records maintained by commercial, electrical, medical and other wings of the department which are involved in quality maintenance were submitted to the agency for the audit. Besides, the team of the officials from the agency also conducted physical verification of the train, said the DRM.
Meanwhile, the DRM informed about planning of the railways to make journey of the passengers travelling in Prayag Raj Express much more comfortable.
Chaudhary said that the passengers travelling in AC coaches of Prayag Raj Express will be provided with bed rolls with a new and a different look. There will be new colour scheme and pattern for the bed rolls supplied to Prayag Raj Express passengers.
The set of these bed rolls will be exclusively meant for Prayag Raj and will not be supplied to other trains, which will help in maintaining the quality, said the DRM.
