The 32-year-old pregnant woman was quarantined in the government hospital in Coimbatore. Five among nine persons, who tested positive this morning, have been admitted to the quarantine ward, hospital sources said.
The woman, who was in a maternity care centre, had shown symptoms of flu and report received last evening tested postive. The woman had neither gone abroad nor had come in contact with those affected with influenza, they said.
Suspected flu cases were on the increase, they said.
Meanwhile, parents were apprehensive about sending their wards to school, particularly one school, where more than 10 girl students tested positive and appealed to the district administration to declare holiday. However, the administration advised against it, since the symptoms could be easily indentified and preventive measures taken, they said.
