Two police constables have been accused of raping a five-month pregnant woman. Initially, the Panki police in Kanpur refused to lodge a report but on the intervention by Senior Superintendent of Police, PC Meena, a case has been registered.

It is learnt that big loot occurred in Panki locality recently in which dacoits decamped with booty of Rs 2.5 lakhs. Superintendent of Police, Ratan Kumar Srivastava, formed several police teams to nab the dacoits.

One of the teams barged into the house of Veeru Kumar on the basis of information received from informers. Veeru was badly beaten up although he pleaded innocence.

Soon, the police team left the place but two constables stayed back. The beauty of Veeru's wife overwhelmed them and they forced her to strip. When the lady resisted, she was beaten up. Her sari was torn and the two cops raped her.

At present, the woman is in a state of shock and has been admitted to hospital. When Neetu, the rape victim, went to the Panki police station to lodge a report, she was abused and told to keep her mouth shut.

Eventually, after much intervention, a case of rape has been registered against the two cops.
