A pregnant woman has been allegedly raped by a person posing as a 'godman' in Kotda Sanghani town of the district, police said.

A pregnant woman was allegedly raped by a person posing as a 'godman' in Kotda Sanghani town of the district, police said on Thursday.

The incident took place on Wednesday, when two persons, posing as sadhus, came to the victim's house when she was alone. They gave religious discourse and then offered her sedative-laced prasad, they said.

One of them raped her when she fell unconscious, they said.

The woman was about nine-month pregnant. Following the incident her health condition detriorated and she was admitted at a local hospital, where she gave birth to a baby girl, they said.

The duo, Bhikhu Rathod and Parbat Rathod, have been arrested, the police added.
