The buzz is that Preity Zinta (left) has been finalised as one of the leads in Rituparno Ghosh’s English film based on late thespian Utpal Dutt’s play Aajker Shahjahan. The film to be produced by Planman Motion Pictures also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal and Jisshu Sengupta.

When we contacted Zinta’s publicist Tanujaa Mehra, she informed that talks are on, but the actor is yet to sign on the dotted line. “Zinta is very keen to do the film, and hopefully the deal should be finalised in about a week’s time.” There was no official confirmation from either Planman or Ghosh.

Zinta has earlier done films such as Armaan, Lakshya ,Veer-Zaara and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna with Bachchan. We had earlier reported the film’s announcement a couple of weeks back where Subho Shekhar Bhattacharya, CEO of Planman Motion Pictures had informed that two heroines were to be finalised for the project.
