With an eye on the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha elections, Agarwal does not want to miss any opportunity to cater to the needs of his Generalganj constituency.
Emphasising on the Jagannath Yatra to be taken out in June, he issued instructions to repair roads used during the yatra. He also instructed KESCo officials to repair cables and transformers on the route of yatra.
Immediately after the meeting, he along with the officials conducted an inspection of those areas through which the procession would pass. At Pechbagh, he gave instructions to officials of the Kanpur Nagar Nigam for cleaning of drains and choked sewer lines, while at Colonelganj he issued instructions for beautification of a local park. Keeping in view water crisis in the city, he also gave formal approval for construction of an overhead water tank having a capacity of 20 lakh liters.
While inspecting Parmat temple, Agarwal issued instructions for construction of a road and a public toilet and at the Kacheri crossing he gave instructions for the construction of a road. Municipal Commissioner Badal Chatterjee, Jal Sansthan general manager UC Tewari, chief engineer of the Kanpur Development Authority and KESCo officials attended the meeting. Jitendra Bahadur Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Alok Agarwal and Imtiyaz Rasool were also present.
