The President, Vice-President and Prime Minister strongly condemn the serial blasts in Jaipur.

The President, Vice-President and Prime Minister on Tuesday strongly condemned the serial blasts in Jaipur.

Appealing for peace and calm, President Pratibha Patil termed the blasts “despicable and dastardly acts”. Vice-President Hamid Ansari expressed his deepest sympathies to the families of those killed and injured.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was briefed on the blasts, deplored the attack on innocent people. He assured all support to the Rajasthan government and assistance to affected families.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi called the bombings a “crime against humanity”. She appealed to the people to maintain harmony in this “grave” hour.

US ambassador to India David Mulford said: “There can be no possible justification for the murderous attack on innocent people… my deepest sympathies to the families of the victims.”
