Prestige celebrates foundation day

PRESTIGE INSTITUTE of Management and Research, Indore celebrated its 13th foundation day recently. JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd director S K Wali was the plenary speaker on the occasion. HE delivered an oration on “Emerging India: challenges and opportunities”.
S K Wali said that India needs better infrastructure to compete with the developed nations. He highlighted the emerging fields such as pharmaceuticals, telecom, tourism, power, auto components, biotechnology, IT and BPO. Institute director Dr Upinder Dhar delivered the welcome address. Prof Pragya Keshari conducted the programme, while Prof Pragya Pandit proposed the vote of thanks.
The institute will organise ‘Jigyasa 2006’ the third national research paper contest for students on January 29. The contest will be organised in two stages. In the first stage a panel of subject experts review the synopsis of the participants. The selected participants will be invited for presentation. Entries have been received from B-schools of Indore, Mumbai, Jaipur, Bhopal, Nagpur, Pune, Gurgaon, Belgaum and Karnataka. Prof S Sivaram will coordinate the contest.
PIMR will also organise the 8th PIMR National Conference on January 30 and 31. The theme for the conference is ‘Going Global: Changing strategies for winning organisations. EXIM Bank CMD T C Venkatsubramanian will be the chief guest of the programme. Dr Vinit S Chauhan will coordinate the event.
Around 152 research papers will be read in this conference by delegates from West Bengal, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Baroda, Bho-pal, Nagpur and few from Bangladesh. MDI Gurgaon director Dr Pritam Singh will be conferred with the National Management Excellence Award in the event.
