Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today expressed deep shock at the demise of Member of Parliament Sukhbans Kaur Bhinder and termed it a great loss to the country In his condolence message, the PM recalled her able services as an agriculturalist, social worker and parliamentarian with distinguished record of services as Union Minister of State for Tourism. Nation lost a committed leader to the secular values of Rupublic India, he said. According to him, her election to the Lok Sabha for five terms was the testimony to her popularity as a leader of masses. With a small stint in Rajya Sabha before her departure, both Houses had the privilege of her presence, he said. Bhinder, 63, died in the capital on Friday after a prolonged illness.
