Prince Harry gets a potato bashing!

Potatoes may form an essential diet of the West, but after being pelted with raw potatoes by friends it may take a while for British royal Prince Harry to even look at another spud again.

Potatoes may form an essential diet of the West, but after being pelted with raw potatoes by friends at the Sandhurst military academy during an ambush meant to teach him how to deal with riots, it may take a while for British royal Prince Harry to even look at another spud again.

The training is part of Exercise Broadsword at the Army’s mock village at Longmoor training camp, and is designed to teach cadets how to deal with terrorists and rioters, as well as counter-insurgency methods.

According to a source, the Harry’s royal connections were probably the reason why he got a little extra attention from his pals during the training. "I think it is safe to say Harry got particular attention from the other cadets. He certainly had a few bruises," The Sun quoted the source, as saying.

The source further revealed that Harry was a bit put off when he was chosen for the 'goodies' team, but didn't realise until later that it would mean getting pelted with potatoes.

"Harry was put into the goodies team first and looked really chuffed. But then he didn't know he would be the target of an all-out fake riot and would get hit with the potatoes. The training sergeants encourage the baddies team to pelt the other side as hard as they can," the source said.

However, Harry did manage to get a little revenge when roles were reversed and he became a 'baddie'.

"Harry really got into the swing of his role-play. He had his turn at playing a goodie and took quite a few direct hits from spuds. He relished his go at being a baddie — and certainly did get his own back," the source added.
