Prof Bhim Singh is the founding father of Jammu and Kashmir Panther’s Party (JKNPP). His thrust is on winning the confidence of the people. His solution of Jammu and Kashmir is two-fold: He stresses on meeting the basic needs of the people and efficient redressal of public grievances, more welfare schemes for the people and rehabilitation of migrants as short term measures.

In the long term, he roots for reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir. He is also for holding elections is the PoK and Gilgit regions under international observers.

In its poll manifesto the Panthers Party has promised to fight for statehood status for the Jammu region, inclusion of Dogri language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution and full rights and compensation for refugees from Pakistan and occupied Kashmir. He is also of the view that Jammu and Kashmir should be reorganised in the same way as Uttaranchal, Chattisgarh and Jharkhand. This, he feels, will go a long way in controlling militancy in the state.

He is a journalist, a statesman, a film maker, a social activist and a champion of civil rights of all human beings irrespective of their race, religion, region or nationality.
