Programmes organised on Hindi Day

VARIOUS GOVERNMENT departments and organisations observed Hindi fortnight and also celebrated Hindi Day in the city yesterday.

NATIONAL RESEARCH CENTRE FOR SOYBEAN: NRCS celebrated Hindi Day and organised the closing ceremony of Hindi fortnight yesterday. Commercial Tax Commissioner Pramod Kumar Das was the chief guest and Centre director Dr G S Chauhan presided over the programme. Narmada Control Authority secretary Mukesh Chauhan was the special guest.

Das said that Hindi is an inseparable part of our culture. It must be held in high regard. Dr Chauhan suggested that people must establish an emotional connection with the language. Das awarded the winners of various competitions held during the fortnight. NRCS Hindi department in-charge Dr Abhay K Vyas delivered the welcome address. A K Jagdishan conducted the programme while scientist Savita Kolhe proposed the vote of thanks.

AKASHWANI: ‘It is very easy to think and express the feelings in Hindi. Hindi bridges the communication gap easily.’ Akashwani Indore centre Director Harendra Kotia said this in the Hindi Day programme held here. The winners of contests organised in Hindi fortnight were awarded on this occasion.

Cash prizes were distributed to winners of annual encouragement schemes of Akashwani. The appeal of Akashwani Director General Brajeshwar Singh was also read out in the programme. Hindi Officer Meghsingh conducted the programme while translator Chandorkar proposed the vote of thanks.

NEHRU YUVA KENDRA: Hindi Day was celebrated in Nehru Yuva Kendra with the inauguration of Hindi Week. Kendra regional convener Sunil Pandey and Janpad representative Sardar Singh Solanki inaugurated the celebrations.

Satya Narayan Malviya informed that sports, rangoli, debate and speech competitions would be conducted during the week. Hukum Singh Anjana, R S Bhatia, Moin Shah and Yogesh Malviya participated in the programme. Shekhar Solanki conducted the programme while Vijay Yadav proposed the vote of thanks.

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT: Quiz, Speech, poetry, letter writing and slogan writing contests marked the Hindi Day programmes in IIM Indore. Prof Pawan Kumar Singh inaugurated the programme. He also awarded the winners of various competitions. IIM Rajbhasha committee president Prof Ashish Nath presided over the programme. Anil Kaushal conducted the programme while Ghanshyam Shrivas proposed the vote of thanks.

EPFO REGIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE: The Regional Training Institute of Employees Provident Fund Organisation in Ujjain conducted interstate competitions on Hindi Day. More than 50 trainees from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Goa took part in the events. Regional Provident Fund Commissioner P D Sankhla presented the prizes. The trainees staged dances, songs and comedy items.

INDIAN AIRLINES: Hindi fortnight was inaugurated on the eve of Hindi Day in Indian Airlines office in the city. Indian Airlines regional manager (Marketing) D V Gadgil asked the employees to greet the passengers in Hindi. PIB Indore Assistant Information Officer Madhukar Pawar was the chief guest on the occasion.

He said that globalisation has widened the horizons of Hindi. The international companies are publicising their goods in Hindi to capture the market. Indian Airlines Security Superintendent M D Pakwasa conducted the programme while Airport Manager Vivek Kante proposed the vote of thanks.

UNION BANK OF INDIA: The employees of Union Bank of India pledged to execute maximum official tasks in Hindi according to the directions issued by Finance Minister on Hindi Day. The Hindi Day programme began with a prayer. Bank regional office Chief Manager G Y Mishra read out the message of Finance Minister and senior Manager (Rajbhasha) made them aware of the oath. All the Bank employees in the city signed the oath letter.

STATE BANK OF INDORE: Hindi Day began with inauguration of Hindi Week in Bank’s Zonal office. Bank Deputy General Manager N K Nagar, Assistant General Manager N K Goyal and Rajendra Bhargav lit the lamp and garlanded the portrait of Goddess Saraswati. Nagar said that cross-country connectivity could increase if everyone conversed in Hindi.

He administered oath of working in Hindi to the employees. Shyam Pandey conducted the programme while Shakuntala Naidu proposed the vote of thanks.

NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED: The employees of the company took out a vehicle rally from its Sapna Sangeeta Road office to promote Hindi among the citizens. The company also completed its 100 years on the same day.

The rally progressed through Khatiwala Tank, Manikbaug and Hemu Kalani statue and culminated at the office. More than 100 two-wheelers with slogans and banners in support of Hindi language participated in the rally.

The employees gathered at Regal Square after the rally. Pandit Ganesh Dutt Tripathi, company chief regional manager S Tigga and manager Mohan Vatnani garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Pandit Tripathi then inaugurated Hindi Week at the company’s Apollo Tower office. Pandit Tripathi said that Hindi is heritage of India. It is the language that binds the Indians, he added. Rajendra Khadiwala conducted the programme.
