Progress must be visible: PM Modi to ministers

Sources said he asked all ministers to work for development in a visible manner and avoid anything that dents the government's image.

The PM referred to e-books being prepared by various ministries and called for transparency in government through e-governance.

He also asked ministers to utilise budgetary allocations for ministries through the year rather than just at the end of the financial year.

Modi asked his ministers to source innovative ideas for the Union budget from people through electronic means.

Minister of state for parliamentary affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy told reporters that the PM asked his team to bring the north-east on the development roadmap.
