Sakthivel, Salem District Rajinikanth Fans Association President, had given these cassettes to government bus drivers to be screened to the passengers in the bus.

On a complaint, Salem Election Commissioner Kannusamy, who is also the RDO, rushed to the spot along with the Tahsildar and other officials and seized the cassettes, as screening them in government buses was against election rules.
