Aditya Pisal, a resident of Tanaji Nagar in Dhankawadi, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his house by his parents late on Sunday, after they returned from a dinner. A student of Class 5, Aditya was suffering from behavioural issues, his family members said.

According to the police, Aditya was insisting his parents buy him a jerkin – a sleeveless jacket. Aditya’s father Sunil Pisal, who is in the construction business, had told his mother to get him a sweater instead.

Upset, Aditya quarrelled with his parents and refused to go out for dinner with them.

“Aditya was alone at his home after his parents went out for dinner. Around 10:30pm, he hanged himself from the ceiling fan by a dupatta,” said inspector Balkrishna Ambure.

Aditya’s family members have informed the police he would habitually get upset over small issues, Ambure said.
