Punjab Assembly bans Colas

The ban had been imposed in the interest of all concerned till it is proved that the drinks are not deadly.

The Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat has banned serving of Coca Cola, Pepsi and other soft drinks in its canteen following the study report of the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) showing high quanity of pesticides in them.

The canteen serves such drinks in various committee meetings in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat as also to the visiting MLAs, Punjab Vidhan Sabha secretary Nachhattar Singh Mavi said.

The ban had been imposed in the interest of the health of all concerned till the shadow of being deadly is cleared over these drinks.
