"The Manmohan Singh government has done a lot for the people. But these benefits are not reaching people because of corruption here (in Punjab)," Rahul Gandhi said while addressing a rally for the Congress candidate from the Bathinda Lok Sabha seat, Raninder Singh.

Rahul Gandhi showered praise on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his government.

"Manmohan Singh is Sher-e-Punjab (Lion of Punjab)," Gandhi said.

He called upon Congress workers to work unitedly to ensure the party's victory in all 13 seats of Punjab. "You have to fight for the people of Punjab," he said.
