MANY PRIVATE educational institutions throughout the State may defeat the ambitious plan of the UP Madhyamik Shiksha Board to ensure copying-free examinations this year.

Despite the fact that the board has taken several effective measures to create examination centres at the schools and the colleges enjoying good credibility, yet many of the institutions were made examination centers, which lacked credibility.
However, examinees are well aware of such institutions and their high connections. Consequently, a large number of private candidates from the city have preferred to appear at the final examinations from such centres situated in different districts of the State.
According to a few students many examinees have chosen to appear from a centre situated in Hardoi as the manager of the institution has charge Rs 3000 from each examinees and has assured them providing mass copying facility at the examination.
Similarly, many of the students have preferred to appear at the examinations from certain centers at Sitapur and other small districts to get the facility of copying.
The examinees are proud of their selection of their respective examination centers in different districts other than Kanpur Dehat and Kanpur city where according to them strictness was ‘meaningless’. They claimed that even last year despite all strictness at the examination centers in the districts, many of the centres in smaller districts remained unaffected and examinees were not allowed to use unfair means, but were also allowed to avail extra time facility of half an hour or so.
Pleading anonymity, the examinees said that they had paid Rs 3000 to the college management for allowing mass copying to them.
However, this time the rate has gone slightly high and they had to pay Rs 400 for all subjects.
On being asked why did they want to pass the examination without procuring reasonable knowledge, they said, “We just want to have a pass certificate to get jobs on recommendation. Every one knows that there is no correlation between knowledge and the job. For job we must have a basic qualification and ‘source’ for job. Our aim is to pass Intermediate and High School examinations.
We have assurances from our political connection about the job.”
They said there was no difficulty in staying in these districts. Several low rent accommodations have come up in these districts for examinees. They even provided breakfast and food to outside examinees. The booking for the accommodation had to be made soon after the examination forms were forwarded by the desired centre, they said.
