SHAHAR QAZI Abdul Latif is hurt and upset at the treatment meted to the delegation that had gone to submit the resolution regarding offensive caricatures on behalf of Muslims at the Raj Bhavan.

Though Governor Dr Balram Jakhar was not present, the officials at the Governor House who received the delegation were allegedly discourteous and rude. The members of the delegation said that they were taken aback because the delegation represented thousands of citizens.

Though Shahar Qazi did not speak much on the alleged mistreatment, he said that the attitude of the officials was ‘very bad’. He said that he felt hurt and never before he had seen such behaviour at the residence of any official, minister or other dignitary. “Tarz-e-amal achchha nahin tha, takleef pahunchi”, he said.

“We had not gone there to get ourselves entertained in anyway and just wanted to be treated with some respect but their way was disrespectful”, said another member of the delegation.

“We were surprised because they looked so cold and we felt utterly out of place”. Maulana Masih Alam who was also in this delegation said that the culture of ‘atithi daivo bhava’ was breached despite the fact that appointment had been taken for submitting the resolution.
