Quake hits no-man's-land in western China

The earthquake took place in the Hoh Xil 'no-man's-land' Zhidoi County in Qinghai province.

A medium intensity earthquake, measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale, shook a 'no man's land' between Qinghai Province and the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Seismological Bureau said on Saturday.

The earthquake took place in the Hoh Xil 'no-man's-land' Zhidoi County in Qinghai province and Bangoin County in Tibet, the Bureau said.

The quake struck at 5.27 pm on Friday, with the epicentre at 35.4 North latitude and 89.7 East longitude, Xinhua news agency report said.
