In his inaugural speech Prof Shanker stressed upon the inter-disciplinary research approach in all science subjects. He said the technological world has become so complex and intricate that isolated researches in one field of science cannot be carried out with effective results. He advised scientists to join hands with their peers of other disciplines to ensure better results.
Conference convener Debabrata Goswami, while addressing the audience said the concept of quantum computing was not very old. It was a futuristic technology, which was yet to be developed. Scientists all over the globe were confronted with several problems relating to the new technology and were making efforts to find solutions.
He said quantum computing was a device of “scientific dream” which would assist computing at a much faster level than the existing speed.
He said deliberations at the six-day conference would be held to assess the impact of quantum computing on present day science and technology. He said “We are not going to make any announcement that by a certain period of time the whole world be in the phenomenon of the new and the most advanced and the fastest technology.”
He said, “we are working hard in global organizational collaboration, to come out with definite results with regard to the new concept and in this regard this is the first and a very important conference organised.”
