65-year-old Qureshi, President of Peoples Political Front and senior member of executive council of moderate Hurriyat Conference, was discharged from SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) on Tuesday.

Militants of Al-Nisreen outfit shot at Qureshi outside his residence in Soura when he was returning from a mosque after offering prayers.

"The condition of Qureshi is better now although he is still weak," SKIMS Director Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar said.

Meanwhile, Qureshi has refused security and the state government's offer for a residential quarter in the security zone, his family members said.
