Rabri stoops to a new low
Bihar House witnessed turmoil after Leader of Oppn showed her slippers to a BJP member, reports Anirban Guha Roy.
The Bihar Assembly on Tuesday witnessed turmoil after Leader of Opposition Rabri Devi showed her slippers to a BJP member Ramadhar Singh for criticizing the erstwhile RJD regime. Rabri also hurled invectives against another member, Renu Devi (JD-U).

The House was debating the motion of thanks on the Governor's address.
What apparently irked Rabri was Renu Devi's allegation that RJD members were behind the kidnappings and dacoities that took place in the last three months. Rabri immediately stood up and showered invectives on her.
Rabri's comment led to pandemonium as members from the treasury benches demanded an apology from her. When the din continued, energy minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav pacified the members by apologizing on behalf of the House.
"Such behaviour is against the dignity of the House," he said while insisting that the entire episode should be made part of the proceedings. However, Speaker Udai Narayan Choudhary expunged Rabri's remarks.
Later during her speech, Rabri launched an acerbic on the government. She also took at a dig at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, dubbing him as an 'unsuccessful railway minister'.
