Rail traffic hit as goods train derails

TRAFFIC ON the Bina-Bhopal section of West Central Railway was affected as three empty wagons of a goods train coming from Delhi derailed near Pawai station between Vidisha and Bina stations today.

TRAFFIC ON the Bina-Bhopal section of West Central Railway was affected as three empty wagons of a goods train coming from Delhi derailed near Pawai station between Vidisha and Bina stations today.

Nobody was injured in the mishap, which took place at around 11 am near Pawai railway station, Vidisha stationmaster S Niranjan said.

Derailment disrupted traffic on Up-line and both Up and Down trains were being routed on the Dn track and several trains were running behind schedule, railway sources said.

Amritsar-Dadar Express, Jodhpur-Bhopal Fast Passenger and Kushinagar Express had been stopped at Ganjbasoda, while Swarna Jayanti Express had been halted at Bina immediately after derailment, the sources added.
