Ramesh Pawar, a police inspector with Vasai GRP, had saved lives of three railway staffs, including a motorman and guard during the riots at Nallasopara railway station last week.

He was, however, injured after being attacked by the mob. He is currently undergoing treatment at Nanavati Hospital.

“We have written a letter to the WR stating that they should financially assist him in his treatment. The GRP has paid Rs 25,000 for medical bill so far,” GRP Commissioner Tukaram Chavan told Hindustan Times.
