Traffic on a number of kutcha roads in Sujanpur, Bhoranj, Nadaun and Badsar areas of the district were badly affected due to falling of debris on roads.

Rivers and rivulets flowing through the district were in spate and a warning was sounded to people living on the left bank of the Beas river to move to safer places and not to venture near the rivers.

Meanwhile, this rain is considered to be beneficial for the germination of late sowing and growth of early sowing varieties of kharif crops in the district.

Farmers are of the view that if the present trend continues, it will help them get good crops.
