Raj Thackeray has said that he will launch his new political party on March 19.

Raj, who has recently separated from the Shiv Sena, announced this at a public meeting at Shivaji Park in Dadar.

It is the same venue from where his uncle and Sena supremo Bal Thackeray has addressed annual Dussera rallies for the past 39 years.

Raj Thackeray, in a two-page press release, gave a detailed account of why he quit the post of Sena leader on November 27 and subsequently resigned from the party on December 27.

He said thathe had realised ever since quitting the Sena that Maharashtra needed a new party.

For this, he said he had toured the entire state and had met prominent people from different strata of the society.

He had quit the Sena levelling allegations against his cousin and Executive President Uddhav Thackeray for marginalising him.
