Continuing his consultation process with the RSS, new BJP President Rajnath Singh on Tuesday met senior functionaries including general secretary Mohan Bhagwat and is understood to have discussed his team of office bearers and national executive to be announced shortly.
During his two-hour stay at the Sangh headquarters at Jhandewalan, Singh also met RSS joint general secretary incharge of BJP Suresh Soni and functionaries from the organisation's Uttar Pradesh unit.
Singh is expected to announce his team of office bearers and national executive either immediately after the January 20 National Council meeting of the party called to rectify his appointment or a day later.
Sources said Sangh is unlikely to spare any person to fill in the vacancy of General Secretary (Organisation) caused by the resignation of Sanjay Joshi following the circulation of CDs showing him in poor light.
In a recent interview, Bhagwat had stated that RSS had full faith in Joshi but did not blame any person for it.
In the absence of the RSS deputing any person, Singh may have to fall back on another RSS deputy to the party Bal Apte to take the responsibility.
Singh has already held two rounds of meetings with Soni since he took over as party chief on January 2.
