, Prakash Jha’s much-anticipated political drama, would be aired on TV within a month of its release. Reportedly, TV channel Colors has bought the telecast rights of the film for Rs 6 crore — almost a crore-and-a-half more than what it paid for UTV’s
Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani
that aired within 30 days of its release.
A source confirmed that the film, starring Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor, releases on June 4 worldwide and will have its TV premiere in July first week. The film, tipped to be inspired by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi’s life, has been made on a budget of Rs 55 crore.
“Neither the producer nor the channel suffers because these days a film’s theatrical run does not exceed more than four weeks. The films fetch us great ad revenue and TRPs too,” said the source.
