Coming out openly in support of the BJP in elections, VHP leader Ashok Singhal said the only party that had agreed to the 11-point demand of 'Sant Samaj,' was BJP.

The charter included construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya and protection of Ram Setu among others.

He demanded immediate release of Varun Gandhi who was arrested over his anti-Muslim speeches and withdrawal of Uttar Pradesh Government's right to slap NSA.
