On the second day of shooting, a song ‘hum to aise hai bhaiyya’ was filmed several times by the revolving automatic high-powered video camera installed on a house boat just 40 metres away from the ghat. The entire Munshighat had been decorated in a traditional ‘Banarsi’ manner with embroidered colorful bedsheets.
The scene reflected the peculiar lifestyle of traditional Banarsis in the morning hours at the ghats of Varanasi.
Rani Mukherjee, clad in a pink Patiala salwar kurta with a yellow dupatta, danced and sang ‘hum to aise hai bhaiyya’ during the shooting with co-actress Konkana Sen. Some other lesser known young artistes also performed in the sequence.
Fans in large numbers thronged the ghat since the morning to have a glimpse of the bollywood stars. Police had to make tireless efforts to control the crowd. Cops even had to resort to mild forceto control the crowd near the venue of shooting. Hundreds of people also watched the shooting from moving boats in Ganges.
There was craze amongst university and college students to have a glimpse of the ‘Khandala girl’.
It may be noted that Rani Mukherjee had also shot here for the film ‘Bunty aur Babli’ two years back.
