A Delhi court on Tuesday granted bail to Kumar Suman Singh alias Ranjit 'don', accused of leaking question papers of the Common Admission Test for IIMs after CBI admitted that they would not be able to file chargesheet in the case within the stipulated 60-day period.
Metropolitan Magistrate V K Khanna directed Singh to furnish a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and one surety of like amount.
The court also granted bail to the don's alleged aides Hari Shankar Chowdhury, Manoj Kumar and Arun Kumar Sinha, also facing charges in the case.
The four accused would, however, remain behind bars for the present as they are yet to get bail in two more cases of question paper leakage, wherein they have been named as accused.
While one case relates to the leakage of question papers of the All India Pre-Medical Exam, 2002, the other pertains to the CBSE All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Examination, 2003.
Busting a nationwide racket behind CAT question paper leakage, CBI had arrested the four accused from a hotel in Mahipaplpur in South-West Delhi on November 23.
