A PARTIAL solar eclipse was sighted in Bhopal between 4.45 pm and 5.45 pm. A large number of enthusiasts sighted the rare astrological occurrence with special telescope and through a screen put up at the Regional Science Centre.

A PARTIAL solar eclipse was sighted in Bhopal between 4.45 pm and 5.45 pm. A large number of enthusiasts sighted the rare astrological occurrence with special telescope and through a screen put up at the Regional Science Centre.

RSC head Prabal Roy said queuing had begun at the Centre from 4 pm. Children and youths were seen more eager to watch the solar phenomenon.

Prabal Roy apprised the visitors about the ways to sight the eclipse safely. He also informed about the reasons behind this astrological recurrence from times to time.

The Madhya Pradesh Vigyan Sabha had made special glasses available to the eclipse watchers. School children watched the partial eclipse at the SOS village through special glasses.

Vigyan Sabha’s vice president Ajay Kumar Khare and programme convener Ashish Pare were also present on the occasion. They explained the phenomenon of eclipse to the watchers.

Children asked a variety of questions like do eclipses affect human beings? How should these be sighted and when next solar eclipse will occur? Khare and Pare satisfied their inquisitiveness.
