Ravi Passi new NCDPD co-Chairman
Ravi Passi was unanimously elected as Co-Chairman of the National Centre for Design and Product Development.
Ravi Passi - a renowned exporter of handicrafts & textiles products - was unanimously elected as Co-Chairman of the National Centre for Design and Product Development (NCDPD).
He succeeded ML Sharma of Emen Export House.
Mr Passi of RK Arts is associated with Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) since its inception and has served EPCH as its Chairman for 2 years in the years 2001 and 2002. He is very actively involved in various trade bodies.
He took the responsibility as the Co-Chairman of NCDPD in its 20th Meeting held on May 4, 2006 here.
Mr Passi is also one of the Directors of India Exposition Mart Ltd and Chairman of its Project Execution Committee (PEC).
NCDPD is an autonomous body set up by EPCH jointly with the Ministry of Textiles under the Chairmanship of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) in ex-officio capacity in 1999.
It is a non-profit organisation established with a view to provide design and product development support to the exporters from handicrafts & textiles sectors.
He said that the Centre would invite designers and technologists from different parts of the world to give required design development inputs to promote the exports of Indian handicrafts.
Regarding development of clusters, Mr Passi said NCDPD would provide assistance in improving the Design and technical skills of the artisans and crafts-persons and help improve their lives.
