Raze illegal buildings, ADA told

He had come here from Lucknow to meet them for the removal of encroachments and illegal constructions in the city which, of late, have started posing great difficulty in the smooth flow of traffic in the city. The initiative is being taken on the direction of the High Court following a PIL. The details presented before him by the officials were full of errors.

He had come here from Lucknow to meet them for the removal of encroachments and illegal constructions in the city which, of late, have started posing great difficulty in the smooth flow of traffic in the city. The initiative is being taken on the direction of the High Court following a PIL.
The details presented before him by the officials were full of errors. This occurred because of the pick and choose policy which ADA officials have failed to give up despite intervention of the HC which has clearly stated that all encroachments be removed and proper parking be ensured in the city.This prompted the senior officer to remark that the list of demolition was incomplete.
Directing the officials to immediately remove all encroachments, he asked them to immediately seal all such buildings which had no parking provisions. DM Amrit abhijat was more focused. He openly said that as long as strict punishment to erring officials was not meted out, they would continue to be hand in glove with illegal construction in the town which had deshaped the face of the town and had started posing problems for the people.As was expected, for reasons best known to him , Meena didn’t venture out with his team for an on the spot inspection. But he sounded stern with the ADA officials in directing them that HC orders had to be carried out at any cost.
However, before winding up, Meena made it clear to the officials that he would not allow any laxity on the part of officials in getting the HC order implemented in toto.
The ADA officials also deliberately refrained from mentioning places where even movement on foot is difficult due to the ever-increasing encroachment. The situation in the city is worse. Be it Kothaparcha , D Road near Chandralok cinema theatre, Mutthiganj, Rambagh, Bahadurganj, Kotwali, Vivekanand Marg,illegal constructions are thriving.
