The activists under the leadership of city coordinator of Bajrang Dal, Rajesh Rai staged a demonstration at VNN and later burnt the effigy of state minister and a local SP MLA. Rai alleged illegal slaughter houses were running in the city under the protection of Singh and Kalam.
Rajesh said some slaughter houses in Golghar, Kamal Hadda and Beniabagh areas were violating government orders and killing more than 250 animals per day. He added these slaughter houses were causing spread of infectious disease in adjoining areas.
He alleged the VNN had closed two slaughter houses but these were re-opened under the pressure of state minister. The leaders of Bajrang Dal warned if the district administration and VNN officials did not close the slaughter houses, they would launch a massive movement.
