A report on the entire matter (Pilibhit violence) has been recieved by the State Election Commission (SEC) which would forward it to the EC, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Amrit Abhijat told reporters here today.
"We have recieved a report from Pilibhit DM today and we will be forwarding it to the EC", he said, adding that the SEC is keeping a close eye on the situation.
Asked whether SEC has taken a note of any laxity on part of the district administration for preventing yesterday's incident, Abhijat said they would see what could be done.
Replying to a question about SEC report on those injured in the incident, he said only seven-eight people were undergoing treatment in hospitals and the rest were discharged besides policemen, whose exact number he could not tell.
Four separate FIRs have been lodged today in Pilibhit including one against Varun Gandhi, senior BJP leader Kalraj Mishra and others in connection with the violence that erupted there yesterday, he said.
