Residents seek power plant for city

It is for the first time in past 10 years that residents of the Millennium City are compelled to live without power. Last week, they faced blackouts for 12-14 hours daily. The prolonged outages have made residents demand a dedicated power plant for the district.

They alleged that the state government earned 47% of its total revenue from Gurgaon. But when it came to facilities, the city does not get even 10% of its share. However Amit Aggarwal, MD of DHBVN, said, "We have been supplying 20-22 hours of power to the city from Wednesday despite odd situations in the state. However, I would not like comment on the issue of a dedicated power plant for Gurgaon."
