Hundreds of State government employees, who are going to retire, are returning from the Treasury Office without getting pension books.
One of the employees, who is going to retire in May said, he has been coming here at the Treasury Office for the last two months to get the pension book but he has not got it till today.
It may be mentioned that there was a governmental procedure of four to six months after submitting the pension books in their respective departments to enjoy the commencement of pension.
Assistant Treasury officer Dawari Singh said there were no pension books in the office because the concerned printing press could not provide pension books to the treasury office.
He said two reminders have already been sent to the concerned printing press but they did not bother to print the pension books. The absence of pension books in the treasury office was a matter of concern as the process of getting pensions would be delayed for the State government employees, who are going to retire within two-three months.
Chief Treasury Officer Ravindra Kumar said since he had limited powers he could only request the concerned printing press to provide the pension books to the treasury office.
